Hello! My name is Faith. I am a sophomore in Illustration at RISD. My hobbies include sleeping, eating, and pretending I don't like k-pop.

May-day! Haha, that was a pun, everyone.
The next few weeks are going to be rough for projects, but I need to just hunker down and do it I guess! I get out of school on the 26th, but before that I need to do-
- a 36”x52” oil painting (in class, pretty far along)
- a 28”x36” oil painting (not started)
- fill a 42”x10 yard paper with self portraits (1/6 done, maybe)
- an 8 page research paper (outlined)
- a presentation on said research paper (not started)
- paid comic job for my school (mostly finished)
- an artist book (not started)
Additionally, I have various RA-related things to do; floor events, meetings, checking my residents out of their rooms, rounds, writing a proposal for next year’s floor, staff meetings, and mandatory office events. These things are enjoyable and normal, but somehow there are way more at the end of the year, haha.
And when I get home, I have a deadline for a huge comic commission on June 8th, so you can bet that I’ll be finishing that the week after school ends. It’s a fun job, but I haven’t had a lot of time to work on it through finals.
Phew! Just thought I’d record everything I need to do for my own purposes and it’s making me tired just looking at the list. At least everything I need to do is somewhat fun. Wish me luck!
PS- I also just got an account with Autodesk to download Maya for free for the next 3 years. I seriously recommend it if you’re a student in need of 3D rendering programs. :)

Sampling of some work for a paid job. The paper is supposed to have stuff on it, but I haven’t filled that in yet. I’m working on finals now, so things may be quiet for a few weeks and then I’ll post a lot of art. ;)

The top pictures are of my dress I made. I made the pattern based on my Summer pattern for the project and ordered it on fabric from Spoonflower. Then I made the dress using a vintage dress pattern. Very happy with it, I feel like it will get a lot of wear this summer. :)
The bottom squares are details of my illustrated patterns. In order from the top left, spring, summer, autumn, and winter. :)

Finally finished my big pattern project! I designed a modern twist on rococo patterning for each of the seasons. Additionally, I made a dress with the summer pattern and wore it to crit. Really loved everything I made this time around, so all the all-nighters were worth it.

pleasemakeallmydreamscometrue asked: Hello! first, I want you to know that I reeeeeaally like your picture of the the girl with glitter all over her face and I want to ask you a little question about it: did you just body glitter or something else? My hobby is photography and I wanted to do something with glitter but never knew how to make it look like how you did so I hoped you could help me :)
Hi, thanks for your question! :) The girl covered in glitter in the photo was me, and I am absolutely NOT a photographer, so I was improvising with the process.
I used regular glitter from a tube (the brand is Darice and can be found here- http://www.darice.com/store/browse/catalog/wholesale-basics )glitter and adhered it with some eyelash glue. I would say use this combination at your own risk, because taking it off felt like rubbing sandpaper all over my face. :(
If you would have it on skin, I recommend the Crystal variety because it is slightly translucent, which makes it appear more like natural skin tone with some sparkle.
Hope that helped! :) Please send me anything you do with glitter if you choose to so I can ‘ooh’ and ‘aah’ over it!
